Harvey Hershel Korman was an American comedic actor, producer, writer, and director in film and television. He was born on February 15, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States, to Jewish parents Helen and Cyril Raymond Korman.

Early Life and Military Service

Shortly after finishing school, Harvey Korman was drafted into the United States Navy and served in combat during World War II. After the war, he enrolled in the Goodman School of Drama at the University of Chicago to pursue his passion for acting.

Early Career and Move to Hollywood

After completing his studies, Korman tried his luck in several Broadway productions but did not receive recognition and had to work as a cashier in a restaurant. He later moved to Hollywood, where his acting career took off.

Successful Career in Television and Film

Korman began his work in the animation industry, providing voices for characters in the "Tom and Jerry" cartoons and brilliantly voicing the role of The Great Gazoo in "The Flintstones" animated series.
